Every year, my family piles up at the camp house in Gulfport to trek to the Wolf River (boat landing near Long Beach) and enjoy a day of fishing and floating in the cool waters. This tradition, of course, includes snacks. My son’s favorite river snacks are Slim Jims, Pecan Swirls and watermelon. He takes the watermelon eating very seriously, as seen by the concentration on his face as he takes the first bite. On this particular day, the fish didn’t take any bites.
Went fishing at a small local lake with my son Wyatt Simmons who has a rare form of muscular dystrophy. Fishing off the bank and he caught the largest bass of his life.
Came across Show Me Birds at the Mississippi Outdoor Expo last year. Talked to Mr. Kim, booked the trip, and it was a fantastic hunt at “Show Me Birds” in Baxter Springs, KS!
This was this past spring 2023 at the Barnett Ross Reservoir. This is my 12 year old son Hunter Coon.
